Named for the city’s first public course
Aurora Hills Golf Course, at 50 S. Peoria St. just north of Alameda, is the original course in Aurora’s municipal golf system. It’s a walkable, tree-lined layout with water hazards and the Tin Cup restaurant. Aurora Hills Middle School (1009 S. Uvalda St.) serves grades 6–8 in Aurora Public Schools. Local agents point out that Peoria Street is roughly where school districts divide, with homes west of Peoria generally in the Cherry Creek School District and homes east of it in Aurora Public Schools. Check your address before relying on that.
For errands, Town Center at Aurora is to the northeast, and Peoria Street and Mississippi Avenue have neighborhood grocery and shopping centers. The Aurora Metro Center station on RTD’s R Line sits on the east side of Town Center, and RTD buses run on Alameda, Peoria and Mississippi. The Anschutz Medical Campus is a few miles north.
