House Cleaning in the Highlands, Northwest Denver
“The Highlands” usually means two neighboring areas northwest of downtown. Highland (including LoHi, short for Lower Highland) runs from Speer Boulevard north to West 38th Avenue, between Federal Boulevard and the rail line and South Platte River on the east. West Highland sits just west of it, between Federal and Sheridan boulevards from 29th to 38th Avenue. Both are part of Denver’s historic Northside. The Cleanest House cleans Highlands houses, condos and townhomes. We don’t clean apartments.
What most clients choose: biweekly recurring cleaning. Weekly and every-four-weeks schedules are also possible. Call (720) 660-4990 or request a Highlands quote.
A town before it was a neighborhood
Highland was claimed as a townsite in 1858, and early boosters praised the bluffs “overlooking Auraria and Denver.” The Town of Highlands became a city in 1885, and residents voted in 1896 to let Denver annex it. In 1890, John and Mary Elitch opened their Zoological Gardens on the former Chilcott farm near 38th and Tennyson. The amusement park later moved downtown, but the historic Elitch Theatre is still at the original site and is one of Denver’s oldest historic buildings.
That long history shows in the housing. Victorian and Craftsman-era homes and brick bungalows share the blocks with modern townhomes and condo buildings, especially in LoHi. Each type is cleaned a little differently:
- Older homes have original woodwork, trim, built-ins and sometimes steep stairs, all of which collect dust and need a careful hand.
- Newer townhomes are often three or four levels, some with rooftop decks, and have big windows, so there are more stairs and more glass to clean.
- Porches and alleys bring in dust, leaves and grit. We give entryways and hard floors the time they need.
Walking the Highlands
In LoHi, restaurants and rooftop patios sit a short walk from downtown, with pedestrian bridges crossing I-25 and the South Platte toward Commons Park and lower downtown. Farther west, Highlands Square around West 32nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard has local shops and cafés, and Tennyson Street runs north from 38th into the Berkeley area. Sloan Lake Park lies just south of West Highland. Many residents walk or bike to dinner, so floors see more foot traffic than you might expect, especially on weekends.
Street parking gets tight near busy corners. If our crew should park in your alley, on a parking pad or in a guest spot, let us know on your quote.
Highlands cleaning options
• Recurring residential cleaning, ideally biweekly, with weekly or every-four-weeks available. We don’t schedule every three weeks.
• A one-time deep clean for an occupied home that needs a full reset.
• Move-in/out cleaning for empty homes. We can’t guarantee deposit or inspection results.
• Our non-toxic process, which is lower-fume and mild-scented but not chemical-free, and makes no medical claims.
• Commercial cleaning for LoHi and Highlands Square businesses: month-to-month, any size quoted, after-hours reviewed case by case.
We don’t offer same-day or rush service.
Renovation and construction dust
With older homes being remodeled and new townhomes going up, fine dust is common in the Highlands. It settles on trim, window sills, light fixtures and the tops of cabinets. If there’s been recent work in your home or next door, mention it on the quote. A deep clean first, then biweekly upkeep, usually brings things back under control.
Nearby Northside areas
We also clean in North Denver (Sunnyside, Berkeley, Regis and Chaffee Park) north of 38th, Sloan Lake to the south and Edgewater west of the lake. See every area on Areas We Serve.

"Excellent Communication"
"It’s been a delight working with the team from The Cleanest House. Excellent communication and quick responses are appreciated, they also showed up on time (early) with a crew to handle our deep clean appointment, working around some family we had in town and leaving our place clean and we noticed it especially in some tough to get areas we discussed on our initial call."
