Neighborhood by neighborhood

Sunnyside

Sunnyside runs from 38th Avenue up to I-70, between Federal Boulevard and the Union Pacific tracks. Its older streets are known for historic bungalows and brick homes, mixed with newer infill. On the east side, the 41st & Fox commuter-rail station puts the G Line and B Line within reach.

Berkeley

West of Federal and south of I-70, Berkeley has two lakes: Berkeley Lake Park and Rocky Mountain Lake Park. The Tennyson Street cultural district brings galleries, restaurants and shops to the neighborhood. The housing mixes early-1900s homes, postwar houses and modern rebuilds.

Regis

North of I-70, Regis is named for Regis University, whose campus anchors the neighborhood. It was once considered part of Berkeley, and the two still share Willis Case Golf Course, the lake parks and the Tennyson corridor. The interstate is the main barrier between them.

Chaffee Park

Chaffee Park is the pocket between I-70 and 52nd Avenue, from Federal Boulevard east to the rail line. At its center is the park the city lists as 51st and Zuni Park, which neighbors simply call Zuni Park.

Cleaning notes for older North Denver houses

Many homes here have alleys, detached garages and back entries that people use more than their front doors. Bungalows often have compact rooms and original wood trim, while the new builds tend to be tall, with several staircases and big windows. Each needs different attention:

• Alley-side back doors pull in gravel and dust, so we pay close attention to rear entries and kitchen floors.
• Older trim, baseboards and window sills collect dust, and we hand-wipe them instead of rushing.
• Three-story infill homes mean more stairs and more bathrooms, so list every level on your quote.
