House Cleaning Services Bonnie Brae Denver

House Cleaning Services in Bonnie Brae

Bonnie Brae is a small historic neighborhood in south-central Denver on the east side of University Boulevard, a short drive from Washington Park and Cherry Creek. Its curving, tree-lined streets were planned in 1923, which sets it apart from Denver’s usual grid. Stone pillars still mark the entrances at Kentucky and Tennessee avenues. The Cleanest House cleans Bonnie Brae houses, condos and townhomes. Apartments, including new buildings on University Boulevard, are outside our service.

Recommended: biweekly visits for most Bonnie Brae homes. We also offer weekly and every-four-weeks schedules. Call (720) 660-4990 or request a Bonnie Brae quote.

A “pleasant hill” by design

The land was granted to the Kansas Pacific Railroad in 1870, later farmed, and became part of the Town of South Denver before Denver annexed it. In the 1920s, George W. Olinger, a mortician and real-estate developer, began buying land here. He’d been impressed by a Kansas City subdivision called Bonnie Brae, Gaelic for “pleasant hill,” and he hired landscape architect Saco R. DeBoer, with Walter Pesman, to design curving streets that follow the natural lay of the land.

Development stalled after Olinger’s land company went bankrupt. In 1936, the elliptical Bonnie Brae Park at the center of DeBoer’s plan was finally built, with an open play field, ornamental stone steps and surrounding trees and shrubs. Building resumed as the Depression ended, and the neighborhood eventually grew to more than 700 houses. Tudor Revival and other period homes stand alongside Modernist houses and some newer replacements.

University Boulevard’s “Main Street”

The neighborhood’s small commercial strip is on the 700 block of South University, between Exposition and Ohio. The neighborhood association’s history describes Bonnie Brae Ice Cream, opened in 1986, and a Conoco station run by the same family since 1942. The Bonnie Brae Tavern opened there in 1934, just after Prohibition ended, and closed in 2022. Its building was demolished in 2025 to make way for a small apartment project.

Caring for a period home

Older Tudor and period houses reward careful, consistent cleaning:

  • Arched openings and plaster. If your home has curved doorways, niches or textured plaster, dust collects in the corners. We dust by hand rather than scrubbing plaster.
  • Divided-light windows. If your windows have small panes, they take extra time. We wipe the sills and reachable interior glass gently.
  • Hardwood and tile. Older wood floors and vintage bathroom tile get appropriate products and a damp, not wet, mop.
  • Tree canopy. Mature trees mean leaves, seeds and pollen at the front door in spring and fall, so entryways get extra attention.

If you live in a newer rebuild, the list changes to larger baths, glass showers and open kitchens, and we plan the visit to match.

Services and policies

Recurring visits come through our residential cleaning program. We recommend biweekly, and weekly or every four weeks is also available. We don’t offer every three weeks. For a detailed reset while you live in the home, book a deep clean. For an empty home, book move-in/out cleaning, which has no deposit or inspection guarantee.

Our non-toxic cleaning uses lower-fume, mild-scented products. It isn’t chemical-free, and we make no health claims. Shops on University Boulevard can request commercial cleaning, which is month-to-month, quoted for any size and always non-toxic. We don’t offer same-day or rush visits.
