House Cleaning Services in Park Hill
Park Hill is a large neighborhood in northeast Denver, bounded by Colorado Boulevard on the west, East Colfax Avenue on the south, Quebec Street on the east and East 52nd Avenue on the north. The city splits it into three statistical neighborhoods: South Park Hill, North Park Hill and Northeast Park Hill. The Cleanest House cleans Park Hill houses, condos and townhomes. We do not clean apartments.
Our suggestion: biweekly cleaning suits most Park Hill households, and weekly or every-four-weeks visits are available if they fit you better. Call (720) 660-4990 or request a Park Hill quote.
How Park Hill was planned
Casper R. Hartman bought about 140 acres at the southwest corner in 1871. He platted it in squares instead of rectangles, which is why Ash, Birch and Dexter streets don’t run through Hartman’s Addition. The name “Park Hill” comes from land Baron Alois von Winckler platted in 1887, just east of City Park. His land was later bought by the Park Hill Syndicate, which set strict rules: houses had to sit forty feet back from the street to leave room for wide tree lawns and sidewalks, and each had to cost about three times as much as a typical Denver house of the time. Denver annexed Park Hill in 1903.
Park Hill is also central to Denver’s civil rights history. The Park Hill Action Committee formed in 1960 in response to blockbusting and white flight. Resident Rachel Noel championed school integration in the 1960s, and Smiley Junior High became the first desegregated junior high school in Denver after the Keyes v. DPS case. Residents are still proud of the neighborhood’s diversity.
Landmarks worth knowing
- Park Hill School, whose main building dates to 1901, is in the Spanish Colonial Revival style and was named a Denver Landmark in 1994.
- The Smiley campus is a Tudor Revival school building that now houses McAuliffe International School.
- The Park Hill branch library on Montview Boulevard is a Carnegie-funded building designed by the Denver architects Merrill and Burnham Hoyt.
- Montview Boulevard, whose ornate homes the library’s design was meant to echo.
Caring for deep-setback homes
The forty-foot setbacks give Park Hill long front walks and big tree lawns, and those mean more leaves, seeds and mud tracked inside. Whether your house dates to the early 1900s or was built much later, these are the tasks we focus on:
- Seasonal debris at the door. In fall, leaves and seeds from mature trees come in on shoes. We sweep and mop entries and wipe down the door thresholds.
- Stairs and landings. If your home has a wooden staircase, we dust the rails and spindles and vacuum the treads, going from the top down.
- Kitchens made for hosting. Large kitchens and dining rooms get used heavily around the holidays. Recurring visits keep counters, appliances and floors ready.
- Finished basements. If your basement is a playroom or guest suite, add it to your plan so it’s cleaned on schedule.
Recurring, deep and move cleaning
Ongoing visits are part of our residential cleaning program. Biweekly is what we recommend, weekly or every four weeks also works, and every three weeks isn’t offered. A first-time deep clean is for occupied homes that need a thorough reset. Move-in/out cleaning is for empty homes, and we don’t guarantee deposit or inspection outcomes.
Every visit uses our non-toxic cleaning products, which are lower-fume and mild-scented. They aren’t chemical-free, and we make no medical claims. Businesses along Colfax or Colorado Boulevard can ask about commercial cleaning, with month-to-month terms, quotes for any size and non-toxic products every time. We can’t offer same-day or rush visits.
Bordering Park Hill
City Park is directly west across Colorado Boulevard. East of Quebec is Central Park, the former Stapleton airport site. Congress Park is southwest across Colfax and Colorado. The complete list is on Areas We Serve.
