House Cleaning Services Near the Rocky Mountain Arsenal
“Arsenal” isn’t a Denver neighborhood. It refers to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, a 15,988-acre refuge about 8 miles northeast of downtown, next to Denver and Commerce City. This page is for homeowners in the northeast Denver neighborhoods along its edge, mainly the northern parts of Central Park (including Beeler Park and the North End) and the Montbello area south of 56th Avenue. The Cleanest House cleans houses, condos and townhomes here. We don’t clean apartments.
Our recommendation: biweekly for most homes near the refuge, with weekly and every-four-weeks visits also available. Call (720) 660-4990 or request a quote.
From weapons plant to wildlife refuge
The U.S. Army built the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in 1942 to make chemical weapons. Later, part of the site was leased to private industry, and in the 1980s Shell Oil made pesticides there. The arsenal closed in 1985. Testing found heavy contamination, and the site was added to the federal Superfund list. In 1986, while testing was still going on, a winter roost of bald eagles was found on the grounds. Congress passed the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge Act in 1992, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service took over the land in stages as cleanup finished.
Today the refuge is home to more than 330 species, including bison, deer, coyotes, raptors, white pelicans, prairie dogs and black-footed ferrets. On the Denver side, the newest homes sit right up against its prairie. Planners designed buffer parks and trail links to make the transition from houses to refuge land.
What living next to prairie means indoors
Open grassland is beautiful, but it’s also windy and dusty. The patterns we plan for in homes near the refuge:
- Wind-blown fine dust. On breezy days, dust settles on sills, blinds, ceiling-fan blades and the tops of cabinets. We dust high surfaces on a rotation and wipe window sills every visit.
- Grit in door tracks. Sliding patio doors and garage entries collect sand and seeds. We vacuum the tracks and wipe down the thresholds.
- Trail and park days. After a walk on the buffer trails next to the refuge, entry floors and mudroom benches take the hit.
- Newer homes, larger windows. Big panes facing open space show every streak, so we clean interior glass within reach with a streak-free finish.
How to book the right service
Most households choose our recurring residential cleaning. We recommend biweekly, weekly and every four weeks are also available, and there’s no every-three-weeks plan. A one-time deep clean is for occupied homes that need a thorough first pass. For empty homes, use move-in/move-out cleaning, keeping in mind that inspection and deposit results are never guaranteed.
We clean with non-toxic products that are lower-fume and mild-scented. They are not chemical-free, and we make no health claims. Nearby businesses can ask about commercial cleaning, which is month-to-month, quoted for any size and always non-toxic. We can’t do same-day or rush visits.
