House Cleaning Services in Congress Park
Congress Park is both a park and a neighborhood in central Denver. The 1995 Congress Park Neighborhood Plan sets its boundaries as York Street on the west, Colfax Avenue on the north, Colorado Boulevard on the east and Sixth Avenue on the south. In 2010 it had about 10,200 residents in roughly 5,700 households. The Cleanest House cleans Congress Park houses, condos and townhomes. Apartments are outside our service.
Recommended cadence: biweekly for most Congress Park households, with weekly and every-four-weeks visits also available. Reach us at (720) 660-4990 or request a Congress Park quote.
From cemetery hill to streetcar suburb
The area was once known as Cemetery Hill, after the old city cemetery on the land. In 1890, Colorado Senator Henry Teller pushed through the legislation that let the city turn the cemetery into a park, and it was named Congress Park in honor of that act. The original park included land that is now Cheesman Park, the Denver Botanic Gardens and the Denver Water property. Developers platted the residential area in more than ten subdivisions in 1887 and 1888, as cable cars made the eastern neighborhoods easier to reach, and Denver incorporated the area on March 11, 1889. For years it was called Capitol Heights, and the city has used the name Congress Park since the 1970s.
South of the reservoir, the land served as the city nursery from 1903, growing trees and flowers for Denver’s parks and parkways. The blocks north and east of the nursery filled in quickly after a second reservoir was built in 1908.
What’s in the neighborhood
- Congress Park itself has eight tennis courts, athletic fields, a playground, a picnic pavilion and one of Denver’s public outdoor swimming pools.
- Denver Water’s underground storage cisterns sit along the park’s north edge.
- The Denver Botanic Gardens is just across York Street.
- A long stretch of East Seventh Avenue Parkway runs through the neighborhood, lined by the 7th Avenue Historic District, the largest historic district in Denver.
- The city’s emergency communications center, with its tall antenna, is at 950 Josephine Street.
How we clean older central-Denver homes
Much of Congress Park was built out in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and many homes have been remodeled more than once since then, so floor plans vary a lot. Our team plans each visit around your home:
- Multi-level homes. We carry supplies from floor to floor and clean the stairs top to bottom, so dust doesn’t settle back on finished areas.
- Front porches and entries. Covered porches and small front vestibules collect leaves, grit and snowmelt, so we pay close attention to the entry floor.
- Mixed old and new. An older fireplace surround or original trim may sit near a newly remodeled kitchen. We use gentle methods on older finishes and appropriate ones on modern surfaces.
- Condos in older buildings. For units in converted houses or small buildings, let us know the entry and parking details ahead of time.
Service options
Most homes are on our residential cleaning service. We recommend biweekly, and weekly or every four weeks is also fine. We don’t offer every three weeks. For an initial reset while you’re living in the home, book a deep cleaning. For an empty house, choose move-in/move-out cleaning. It isn’t a guarantee of any deposit or inspection outcome.
Our non-toxic cleaning uses lower-fume, mildly scented products. They are not chemical-free, and we make no health claims. Nearby businesses can arrange commercial cleaning month-to-month, with quotes for any size and non-toxic products every time. We don’t offer same-day or rush service.
Around Congress Park
City Park lies directly north across Colfax. Cherry Creek is south, Hilltop is southeast across Colorado Boulevard, and Capitol Hill is to the west past Cheesman Park. See Areas We Serve for the full list.

"It’s been a delight working with the team from The Cleanest House. Excellent communication and quick responses are appreciated, they also showed up on time (early) with a crew to handle our deep clean appointment, working around some family we had in town and leaving our place clean and we noticed it especially in some tough to get areas we discussed on our initial call."
